I like fairies. And roses, and butterflies.

This design makes me think of fall, because it sort of echoes the jewel-tones of autumn leaves.

Speaking of which, I should probably get out there and enjoy those autumn leaves some more before winter sets in, and all I have left to enjoy are bare branches. (Which can also be quite cool, though.)

Shooting the moon

"Shooting the moon" is officially not just a term you use in the game of Hearts. NASA is literally shooting the moon with a rocket. Tomorrow. Well, in nine hours and fifty five minutes as I write this sentence. I'm kind of upset. Shouldn't people get a say in whether other people are allowed to shoot the moon with a rocket? Yes, they have scientific objectives. But still... I kind of feel like the moon belongs to everyone. Not just to NASA.

I love looking through the cute kid's clothing (called "CrewCuts") on the J.Crew website. I squirreled this picture away in my "My Pictures" file on the computer, for inspiration for future sewing projects. I know that Halloween is still quite a while away, but I couldn't resist! Leaves are just starting to fall from a few trees already, the weather is still very hot, but you can tell from the quiet way the crickets are chirping that the party of summer is winding down, and soon fall will be on it's way. And, with fall, Halloween!! Kids tromping around in cute costumes and demanding (usually politely) free candy! I can't wait. :)
